I am a Clinical Psychologist working with adults. I am registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and British Psychological Society (BPS), and bound by their professional codes of conduct.
Psycho-legal reports - Expert Witness: I specialise in the preparation of psychological reports on the effects of road traffic accidents, stress and other trauma, to include negligence and more complex cases for the courts/insurers as an expert witness, and I am listed with the UK Register of Expert Witnesses and with the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL). I have prepared more than 800 psycho-legal reports since 1987.
Psychological Therapy and Consultancy: I am registered as a Psychologist Specialising in Psychotherapy with Senior Practitioner Status with the British Psychological Society. I offer psychological therapy to adults experiencing difficulties after accidents and other trauma, as well as working with individuals experiencing other psychological problems. I have worked as a consultant for a wide range of organisations, including NHS Trusts and the Police. I conduct staff surveys using the Work-Related Quality of Life scale (Easton and Van Laar, 2015).
Teaching, publications and research: I lecture in counselling and clinical psychology at the University of Portsmouth and elsewhere by invitation. From my base at the International Centre for Research in Forensic Psychology at the University of Portsmouth, I have conducted research into whiplash, stress at work, phobic travel anxiety, malingering and quality of working life.
